Imelda Reyes is currently the Interim Dean and Professor at the School of Nursing at University of Nevada, Las Vegas since 2022 and a family nurse practitioner with UNLV Student Health.

As the Interim Dean at UNLV School of Nursing, I lead the strategic vision, academic programs, and faculty development of one of the largest and most diverse nursing schools in Nevada. With over 20 years of experience as a nurse practitioner, educator, and administrator, I bring a wealth of clinical and operational knowledge, skills, and insights to this role.

My mission is to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration among students, faculty, and staff, and to prepare the next generation of nursing leaders who can meet the evolving health care needs of the community. I am passionate about integrating evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and interprofessional education into the curriculum, and enhancing the student experience through hybrid, digital, and experiential learning. I also leverage my network of partnerships with health care organizations, professional associations, and community stakeholders to advance the school's research, outreach, and advocacy initiatives.

Imelda's clinical research focus is in the area of identifying and managing overweight and obesity in children and the parental perception of weight and health of children.
